The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization of the Republic of Moldova, through its Entrepreneurship Development Policy Directorate, together with the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, through the National Institute for Economic Research, is organizing the Moldova Entrepreneurship & SME Policy Conference 2026.
The Conference is designed as a platform for dialogue between policymakers, public authorities, researchers, experts, the business community and development partners, bringing research findings and analytical evidence closer to the public policymaking process.
The 2026 edition focuses on the role of the services sector in strengthening the competitiveness of Moldova’s economy, with particular attention to SME development, productivity, innovation, digital transformation, access to finance, human capital, internationalization and integration into the EU Single Market. For a more detailed overview of the Conference concept, thematic dimensions and research questions, please consult the 2026 Conference Concept Note & Research Framework.
Call for contributions. Researchers, academics, independent experts, think tanks and international organizations are invited to present completed or advanced-stage research supported by data and empirical evidence. Contributions are built around four questions: what was studied, what was found, what evidence supports it, and what we understand better. Selected contributors will be contacted by the organizers with further details.
Participation is free of charge. Anyone wishing to attend or to present a contribution is invited to complete the online registration form by 25 October 2026. Selected contributors will be contacted by the organizers with further information on the format and timing of their presentations. Contributions may be submitted and presented in English or Romanian, and interpretation will be provided throughout the Conference.
This event is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH within the project “Digital Transformation of Small and Medium Enterprises in the Eastern Partnership Countries (DT4SME)”.
Central question of the 2026
