On December 8, 2023, the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM) and the Public Services Agency (PSA), with generous financial support from the USAID Moldova Institutional and Structural Reform Program (MISRA), will host the 3rd edition of the Scientific-Practical Conference with International International. The event, titled ”ALIGNING PUBLIC SERVICES WITH BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT EXPECTATIONS AND ADDRESSING CURRENT TECHNOLOGICAL CHALLENGES” promises to be an insightful gathering with international participation.
The conference will be held in hybrid format: in person at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, in the conference room 203 F, and online (the link will be provided latter to the registered participants).
Given the current focus on the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the European Union (EU) and the recent initiative of the European Commission for a directive on enhancing digital company law, our conference will bring together experts from academia, legal practice, and business to explore the challenges and opportunities of the digitalization in public services.
During the conference, key topics will be addressed include practical insights into the implementation of company law in Moldova, considering recent amendments in national laws and European directives. The conference will point out the role and the contribution of academia, public agencies, and institutions to the ongoing process of digitalizing public services.
The event includes presentations by expert practitioners from renowned international institutions, along with interactive debates, question and answer sessions, and group discussions. These sessions will center around identifying strategies to address the lack of expertise in the field, align public services with the expectations of the business environment, and modernize the legislative framework to incorporate technological innovations, ultimately supporting SME performance.
The conference is structured into the following sections:
- Enhancing the legal framework for the advancement of the business environment and the non-profit sector;
- Modernizing company law through digitalization and Policies For Entrepreneurship Development;
- Implementing Beneficial Ownership reforms: european and national framework;
- Digitalization in the realm of licensing and authorization services.
Abstracts of all accepted papers will be published in the Conference Abstract Book with an ISBN Number, which will be published prior to the event and distributed in both printed and electronic formats.
