Admission for 2015-2016 Academic Year

Offered Studies

Preacademic Preparatory Courses Foreign citizens are granted the opportunity of studying either Romanian or Russian Language during their first year at ASEM, being awarded subsequently a Graduation Certificate (this offer is valid for those who have no knowledge of the above mentioned languages).

The Preparatory courses are meant to facilitate the integration of the international students within the educational process at the Bachelor and/or Master level of studies. The length of the courses is up to 8 months, starting with November 1st of the academic year.

The set of required documents for each student shall be submitted to the International Relations Office until August 15th of the current academic year. All the documents must be translated and legalized in one of the following languages: Romanian, English, French or Russian, in case they are not initially issued in one of the mentioned languages.

Admission Procedure

For enrolment at the Academy of Economic Studies from Moldova, foreign citizens have to submit at the International Relations Office of AESM the following set of documents in order to receive initially the acceptance to study from the Ministry of Education of Republic of Moldova:

  1. Completed Application form for AESM admission;
  2. Certified/legalized copy of National Passport, with the period of validity not less than a year and a half (1 year & 6 months);
  3. Translated and certified/legalized copy (with Apostille) of complete school leaving certificate or Diploma of the latest level of study completed – Bachelor/Master, etc.);
  4. Proof of sufficient financial means, Bank Certificate stating the necessary amount of money available for the duration of studies (the amount should be sufficient to cover the cost for tuition fees, temporary residence documents, medical insurance, accommodation and other possible expenses, while being on the territory of Republic of Moldova. The certificate should state an amount of not less than 2000 Euro;
  5. Police clearance certificate (valid 3 months);
  6. Medical Certificate, including the AIDS/HIV test certificate;
  7. Copy of Birth Certificate.
NOTE: The above mentioned set of documents must be submitted to the email of the International Relations Office of ASEM in electronic format and on paper base. The documents shall be translated in one of the following languages: Romanian, English, French or Russian, in case they are not initially issued in one of the mentioned languages, and properly certified/legalized.

Procedure of legalization and residence requirements for foreign citizens on the territory of the Republic of Moldova

  • Having submitted the set of documents, the International Relations Office shall obtain a Letter of acceptance to study from the Ministry of Education of Republic of Moldova for each candidate.
  • Having obtained the Letter of acceptance from the Ministry of Education, the IRO will submit the documents to the Bureau for Migration and Asylum, in order to obtain the Invitation to study.
  • Once receiving the Invitation to study, the IRO shall send the Invitation to the candidate to his home country. Afterward the candidate will submit the necessary documents to one of Moldova’s Diplomatic Missions abroad in order to obtain a D type visa.
  • At arrival to studies at ASEM the international student must come at IRO within 3 days of his/her arrival on the territory of the Republic of Moldova in order to get acknowledged with the procedure of legalization and residence requirements on the territory of Republic of Moldova and start his/her documentation process.
  • Requirements for obtaining  the Residence Right, issued by the Bureau for Migration and Asylum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from the Republic of Moldova:
    1. The foreign citizen will present the following set of document to the International Relations Office of ASEM:
      • Application form
      • Passport in original and copy, including the pages with stamps applied by the border police officers (confirming the date and place of border crossing), and a copy of the long stay visa (for foreigners who have one);;
      • Proof of accommodation (rental contractdraw by a notary/ contract of sale (donation), confirmation of accommodation  in ASEM dormitory, assignment of the right of use of accommodation);
      • Police clearance certificate, legalized/with Apostille, translated into Romanian;
      • Medical insurance for foreign citizens valid for at least 3 months;
      • Medical certificate; blood group; 
      • Proof of sufficient financial means, Bank Certificate stating the necessary amount of money available for the duration of studies (the amount should be sufficient to cover the cost for tuition fees, temporary residence documents, medical insurance, accommodation and other possible expenses, while being on the territory of Republic of Moldova. The certificate should state an amount of not less than 2000 Euro;
      • 2 recent 3x4photos;
      • Receipt of payment  of the state tax paid at the “Banca de Economii” Bank, based on the receipt issued by the BMA, 180 + 90MDL
    2. The IRO will prepare together with the foreign student the following set of documents:
      1. Application-questionnaire (filled in by the IRO in the presence of the student);
      2. Learning Agreement (filled in by the IRO in the presence of the student);
      3. Copy of the Letter of acceptance to study issued by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova (IRO);
  • Having obtained the Residence Right the foreign citizen shall submit personally the set of documents prepared by the IRO to the Office of Population Documentation in order to obtain the Residence permit.
    1. The set of document should include:
      1. National Passport (original and copy);
      2. Residence Right (original and copy;
      3. Copy of the medical certificate, including the information about the blood group;
      4. Copy of Accommodation Proof;
      5. Copy of the Letter of Acceptance issued by the Ministry of Education of  the  Republic of Moldova;
    2. The fee for the Residence permit depends on the period of its issuance + a state tax of 9 MDL
      The terms are: 30 days – 320 MDL
      5 days – 640 MDL
      24 hours – 800MDL
      8 hours – 960 MDL

Accommodation Offered

Each international student of ASEM has the right to accommodation in one of ASEM dormitories, against a fixed additional payment
